Message from the Principal

Welcome to Portland High School. It is an honor to serve as principal of a school community that is deeply committed to helping every student learn, grow, and prepare for a successful future.

At Portland High School, our work is guided by our Vision of the Graduate, which reflects the knowledge, skills, and dispositions we believe every student should develop during their time with us. Our goal is not only to prepare students academically, but also to help them become thoughtful communicators, creative problem solvers, resilient learners, and responsible members of their communities.

Students at Portland High School experience a learning environment that emphasizes curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful engagement. Through a wide range of academic courses, performing and visual arts opportunities, career and technical education pathways, athletics, and extracurricular programs, students are encouraged to explore their interests, challenge themselves, and discover their strengths. Our faculty works collaboratively to create learning experiences that help students apply their knowledge, think independently, and develop the confidence needed to navigate an ever changing world.

Equally important is the culture of care that defines our school. We believe that strong relationships between students, staff, and families are essential to student success. Our educators are dedicated not only to academic excellence but also to supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of every student.
