Career Exploration, Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship Training Programs
Careers In Construction & Apprenticeship Training Programs
More than a job…you deserve opportunity and choice.
The construction industry is the nation’s largest single industry employing more people and contributing more money to America’s bottom line than any other single industry. And with the need for new schools, hospitals, housing and other commercial buildings only going up, the industry is going to need more and more quality workers to get all of the work done.
From skilled trade workers to designers and management positions to support staff, permanent, well-paying construction careers exist in all areas of the industry. Careers in the construction industry can be divided into four general categories: Skilled Trades, Management, Administration and Professional Support, and Design and Engineering.
Explore the various job opportunities within each category to find out what each job entails, what you’ll need to know to build your own construction career and to see how much you could earn.

On behalf of CHEFA: myCHESLA Student Loan
CHESLA is proud to offer its myCHESLA student loan at a 4.59% fixed rate with no fees for the 2021-2022 academic year. This new student loan interest rate sets a record low for the program following last year’s low of 4.85%. CHESLA still has funds remaining at the 4.59% fixed rate for students seeking Spring semester funding.
We believe we are uniquely positioned in the industry with our one fixed rate. All approved applicants are treated the same, with the same great rate! While many lenders may have Annual Percentage Rate (APR) ranges that can range well over 10%, CHESLA’s APR is the same as our stated interest rate. CHESLA is committed to helping our borrowers finance the cost of higher education and expanding access to educational opportunities for all Connecticut residents.
