The Portland Board of Education approved adjustments to the 2026–27 school calendar. The Board reduced one of the back-to-school professional development days in August and eliminated the professional development day originally scheduled for March. These changes allowed the district to add two professional development days at the end of the school year.
Please note the following changes reflected on the revised calendar:
The first day of school is now Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Friday, March 12, 2027, is now a regular school day.
